Sabrina Sweeney, CF-SLP
Sabrina holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders – from the University at Buffalo and Iona College, respectively.
After completing an associate’s degree in visual arts, Sabrina knew she wanted to change her career path. At an internship at a Brooklyn preschool for children with disabilities, she observed a speech language pathologist doing one-on-one sessions with children, and decided to pursue that path because she thought it would be a good fit for her (she was right!).
Sabrina has experience doing articulation therapy and working with aphasic individuals in a clinic setting, as well as doing speech therapy at a school for children with emotional challenges. She has also worked with severely disabled and nonverbal individuals who communicated via augmentative and alternative (AAC) devices.
As an SLP, Sabrina loves seeing children progress through play, and witnessing their language emerge. She is driven by knowing that the work she does helps children learn skills that help them feel successful at school and when making friends.
