This week our assistant director, Melissa, along with other ICT team members, Kristy and Alex, took our pre-teens and teens on their first community outing of the year. Bowling together was an opportunity for them to practice communication, motor, and social skills in a fun, natural setting.

A central part of our group therapy model is creating a bridge that helps children carry the skills they’re learning into all areas of their lives. Community outings are a facilitated (and fun) way to do that. With therapists present, children can feel successful practicing skills in a real-world setting.

Enjoy some photos from the outing, and stay tuned for a recap of our next one in a few months!
