Fun with food – Feeding Groups

An Intensive Program Aimed at Supporting Positive Interactions with Food and Peers -This group is led by speech-language pathologists and integrates the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) and AEIOU systematic approaches to pediatric feeding. The is a non-invasive, developmental approach to feeding that allows the child to explore foods in a non threatening, playful way and ultimately expand the diversity of his/her diet. The holistic approach emphasizes active participation, independence, and shared control. Feeding Groups are available based on interest. If you would like your child to participate, please let us know.

Red Flags for Problem Feeding:

  • Poor weight gain
  • Problems with gagging/vomiting while trying to eat/drink
  • Unable to transition to baby food purees by 10 months of age
  • Unable to accept any table food solids by 12 months of age
  • Unable to transition from breast/bottle to cup by 16 months of age
  • Avoids all foods within specific texture or food groups
  • Eats less than 20 foods by two years of age
  • Presents avoidance behaviors at most meals
  • Mealtime is a constant battle
